Pascha: The Supreme Reality

Dear Parish Faithful,

CHRIST IS RISEN!

INDEED HE IS RISEN!

"Pascha is the sacrament expressly bestowed upon the Church by the Holy Spirit in order that it knows the risen Lord: "Having beheld the resurrection of Christ, let us worship the holy Lord Jesus." Pascha is joy about the Church. By the power of Pascha we find ourselves in the Church, in the one life of the one body, the body of Christ. What usually remains only a summons and a promise is now present before us as the supreme reality. Churchly joy allows us to see one another in God and to delight thereby in our neighbor, as it is proper for a lover to delight in the beloved."

- Fr. Sergius Bulgakov
_____

The "supreme reality." That very well summarizes the paschal mystery as the very heart of the Church. For, with no resurrection, there simply would be no Church. Sharing in the supreme reality, we unite as brothers and sisters in Christ - people of the Resurrection.
